It is directly north of Loch Errochty. Directly north of the loch at the east end is Loch Cruinn. It is the source of the Allt Con, which flows a short distance southwards past Sròn Choin to Loch Errochty. At the north-east end is Loch Cruinn, a very small dam, about 100 metres wide.

It takes about an hour and fifteen minutes to walk from the car to the bothy at the near side of the loch. It also helps that there’s a wide and fairly easy pathway that’s not particularly steep or uphill. But the main joy of the walk is, of course, the scenery.
